Girls on the Mat had its first camp, and it was more magical and impactful than I ever imagined!
More than yoga. More than camp. It was a place where breath became agency, movement wove memory, and safety was something felt deeply in our bones.
I created this because girls deserve a different path. Not to fix them, they’re not broken! Rather, to equip them. To offer tools for emotional steadiness, nervous system literacy, and confidence that lives in the body. From prenatal bonding through teen empowerment, every age is a vital chapter in a girl’s story, and it is my honor and privilege to say, "This is just the beginning!"
What Happened This Week
They shared intimate thoughts that had never been spoken before.
They became sisters in just four days, bound by trust and laughter.
Together, we studied the Yamas — Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truthfulness), and Asteya (non-stealing) — not as abstract ideas, but as living, breathing practices.
They discovered they were not alone with their anxiety.
They practiced kindness and learned its surprising strength.
Why Your Support Matters
Girls on the Mat is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit — and this is only the beginning. With your support, we can:
Expand into year-round programs for every stage of girlhood.
Train facilitators to bring this work into schools, sports teams, and communities.
Build infrastructure to scale our impact across Idaho and beyond.
Offer scholarships so no girl is turned away.
Join Us as a Facilitator
Girls on the Mat is growing — and we’re seeking passionate facilitators who share our mission and are committed to investing in the intensive training I’ve developed.
Our training covers nervous system literacy, trauma-informed yoga practices, age-specific curriculum, and ethical, philosophy-rooted teaching methods.
I recently founded my Yoga Alliance–registered Yoga Teacher Training School, built on more than 15 years of yoga teaching experience and a decade as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. This facilitator training is one of the first offerings to emerge from my soon-to-be-launched school, alongside my signature RYT-200 certification — a program intentionally designed for deep emotional and existential healing. Both are built with the same purpose: to equip leaders with the insight, skills, and heart, and to also bring Girls on the Mat into their own communities and change the future of girlhood.
